On the evening of January 13, 2025, publicly traded software company MicroStrategy announced its latest Bitcoin purchase: $243 million in cash used to acquire 2,530 BTC at an average price of $95,972 per coin.
The acquisition was financed through the sale of 710,425 convertible bonds. As of January 13, the company retains $6.53 billion in convertible bonds ready for future sales. The company’s year-to-date BTC investment yield (BTC Yield) stands at 0.32%.

Consistent Accumulation Strategy
Michael Saylor, the billionaire founder of MicroStrategy, often hints at upcoming Bitcoin purchases through posts featuring his portfolio tracking tool, SaylorTracker. With this latest acquisition, MicroStrategy’s total Bitcoin holdings have reached 450,000 BTC, acquired at an average price of $62,691 per coin.
The company has spent $18.214 billion to acquire a total of 197,780 BTC over the last 10 weeks, demonstrating its aggressive dollar-cost averaging (DCA) strategy since November 11, 2024.

- One week later: Added 51,780 BTC ($4.6 billion).

Semler Scientific, a medical equipment manufacturer, announced it had purchased 237 BTC between December 16, 2024, and January 10, 2025, for $23.3 million at an average price of $95,972 per coin.
As of now, Semler Scientific holds a total of 2,321 BTC worth $191.9 million, acquired at an average price of $92,687 per coin. The company has seen its BTC investment yield skyrocket to 99.3% since adopting Bitcoin as its primary treasury asset in July 2024.
